Kevin Ten Eyck Makes Return To The Wings

Park City, KS (November 7, 2019) - Local talent and former Wichita Wing, Kevin Ten Eyck, is set to take to the pitch for the Wichita Wings' 40th anniversary comeback season. And no one is more excited about it than Kevin.

“We had season tickets growing up,” said Ten Eyck. “I remember as a kid that my parents telling me that I reminded them of Kim Roentved.”

Being compared to famous defender, Roentved, and his love of the Wings and all things soccer led Ten Eyck to become a three-year starter at Friends University where he was an All-KCAC player every year. He was additionally a two-time NAIA All-American during his time as a Friends Falcon. He was later inducted into the Friends University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016 and has served as an assistant coach at the college for both the men's and women's teams.

A tough player who is reminiscent of the great Roy Turner, Ten Eyck is known for leaving everything on the field.

Ten Eyck describes his play as "putting my body on the line to block shots. Putting my body on the ground. I took pride in trying to shut down the team’s best forward.”

After college and before returning to coach, Ten Eyck had the opportunity to play with his favorite team for two seasons, the Wichita Wings. During his time with the Wings, he earned placement on the 2011-12 MISL All- Rookie team. He then followed up with two seasons on the field of the Missouri Comets and is a familiar face to those who attend FC Wichita outdoor games, as he played an additional two seasons with them, finishing in 2016. He also played for the USA Futsal National Team.

Not a bad resume for a kid from Maize who liked to cheer for The Rocket and his Wings.

Additional Ten Eyck accolades include:

• NPSL Goal of the Year 2015

• All-Conference Selection 2015

• NPSL Best 11 of  2015
