COMETS TO HOST WICHITA TO OPEN 2021 CENTRAL CUP

November 11, 2021 – The Wichita Wings will open the 2021 Central Cup tomorrow at 7:05 pm as they travel to Cable Dahmer Arena to take on the Comets. This is the second annual tournament which also features the Omaha Kings FC and St. Louis Ambush. The Comets won last year’s Central Cup by posting a 3-0 record in the round-robin tournament. This year each team will play only twice, so the Wings have opted to use this opportunity to bring along a few new players from this weeks open tryouts. A mix of new and returning players will represent the Wings ahead of preseason camp which begins Monday, November 15th.

During last year’s meeting, which took place at Hartman Arena, Kansas City overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first quarter with eight unanswered goals, cruising to an 8-1 win. Kevin Ellis netted a hat-trick which earned him the First Star of the game. Kansas City out-shot Wichita by a decisive 41-17 margin during the contest.

The Wings will wrap-up the 2021 Preseason Cup on Saturday, November 13 in St. Louis at The Family Arena at 7:05 pm vs the Ambush. The 2021-22 MASL regular-season will kick-off at Hartman Arena as the Wings battle the Amarillo Bombers on Saturday, December 18th at 7:05 pm.

Tickets for all 2021-22 regular-season home games are available at Hartman Arena.
