Good News Wings Fans....WE'RE BACK!!!
Park City, KS (October 11, 2019) – The Wichita Wings have announced a return to indoor soccer in the Major Arena Soccer League’s M2. The announcement came this morning to local news affiliates.
The Wings front office has no time to waste as the new era of Wichita soccer begins on November 9th when the Wings go on the road to renew rivalries with the Dallas Sidekicks, and on November 15th at the Kansas City Comets. Both games are considered preseason friendlies and serve as the annual fan fest night for both the Comets and Sidekicks. Wings fans who want to catch a glimpse of the team will receive free admission in both.
The following week Wings coaches will finalize the 2019-2020 season roster with open tryouts. Tryouts are November 23rd and 24th at Hartman Arena in Park City, KS. Registration is open now. TRYOUT INFO
In making the announcement, new Wings publicist Tim O’Bryhim spoke, echoing the excitement surrounding the press briefing. “We know today is very special for many soccer fans,” said O’Bryhim. “This ownership group spent their childhood as Wings faithful and have built a recognizable game day experience around those years. We are all passionate to be a part of an organization that pays homage to the early days of this historic franchise, while also looking to introduce indoor soccer to a new generation.”
MASL Commissioner Joshua Schaub said, “The Wichita Wings are very important to the history of arena soccer. We are happy to see the Wings return this season and we welcome them to the extended MASL family.”
Wichita Wings home games will be played at Hartman Arena and presented in affiliation with the city of Park City.
